Summary
The protagonist is Alisha, a poor noblewoman who works tirelessly as the lord of her territory in place of her lazy father. One day, the son of a marquis—her fiancé since childhood—suddenly calls off their engagement. Losing the powerful support she needed to rebuild her family, Alisha is left in despair. Just then, a new proposal arrives: an engagement to Kraid, the kingdom’s second prince, rumored to be hideously ugly and cruel. However, contrary to the rumors, Kraid turns out to be a refined and handsome young man with an air of dignity. Yet right after they meet, he tells Alisha: “During this engagement, you don’t have to do anything.”
